Color blindness and bladder cancer

Bladder cancer manifests itself through traces of blood in the urine. This is an easy warning sign for most people to identify. But what about people who are color blind and cannot correctly identify certain colors?

๐๐ฅ๐š๐๐๐ž๐ซ ๐œ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ is the fourth most common cancer in men in the United States and causes more than 16,000 deaths per year in that country. One of the easily identifiable signs is the Sometimes, this is the ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง if there is no pain. ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ is one of the most common ๐ ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐œ ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ, affecting 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women. In most cases, it is the ability to ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ ๐ซ๐ž๐ that is affected.

An article published in ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๐‘’ ๐ป๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘กโ„Ž investigated whether patients with ๐›๐ฅ๐š๐๐๐ž๐ซ ๐œ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ have poorer outcomes than patients without color blindness. The study showed that color-blind patients with bladder cancer had a ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ than those without color blindness. The same analyses were performed on a group of patients with ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐œ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ instead of bladder cancer, but the reduction in survival was ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ญ in this group.

These results suggest that screening for certain diseases, particularly certain cancers, should be ๐š๐๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ, such as patients with color blindness, who may have more difficulty perceiving warning signs ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐œ๐ก ๐š๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐›๐ฅ๐จ๐จ๐. Further studies on this subject are needed, particularly to differentiate between the
