Endocrine disruptors and behavioral disorders?

08/01/2026

Endocrine disruptors are present everywhere in our environment and pose a potential neurodevelopmental toxicity risk. A recent French study has indicated that exposure to two common endocrine disruptors during pregnancy could be associated with behavioral disorders in children.

๐๐š๐ซ๐š๐›๐ž๐ง๐ฌ are commonly used as ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ฌ, such as cosmetics, hygiene products, and pharmaceuticals. ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ก๐ž๐ง๐จ๐ฅ ๐’, meanwhile, is found in receipts and sunglasses, and is a ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐›๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐›๐ข๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ก๐ž๐ง๐จ๐ฅ ๐€. The latter has been banned in France since 2015 because of its French researchers have studied the effect of prenatal exposure to ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐š๐›๐ž๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐›๐ข๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ก๐ž๐ง๐จ๐ฅ ๐’ on behavioral disorders in children.

The study, published at the end of 2025 in the journal ๐ฟ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘๐‘’๐‘ก ๐‘ƒ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘’๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘ฆ ๐ป๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘กโ„Ž, looked at ๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ ๐œ๐จ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ-๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐ฉ๐š๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ, one in Spain and one in France. Exposure to the molecules of interest was measured by The children's behavior was assessed using the The results showed a positive correlation between the level of exposure to The same trend was observed for bisphenol S, but only in boys. Regarding the biochemical substrate of these effects, the main hypothesis is ๐›๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐œ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ, although a causal link has not been established.

There are numerous studies on the effects of endocrine disruptors, as these molecules pose a These results also raise the question of the Bisphenol S has replaced bisphenol A, even though the molecules are similar.
