The publication of Dr. Oliver Leleu et al., from the CHU Abbeville in Northern France, has been accepted for publication in the Lung Cancer Jounal.

This report summarizes new insigths derived from a prospective multicenter trial conducted in Northern France. This trial’s primary objective was to assess the feasibility of implementing a lung cancer (LC) screening program using low-dose chest computed tomography (LD CT) in a real-life setting. The reported data clearly demonstrated that such implementation turned out to be feasible under real-life conditions.

LC is often diagnosed in the metastatic stage, being already resistant to curative treatment options. While chest X-ray and cytopathological sputum examination for LC screening were shown unable to specifically impact LC mortality, chest LD CT could represent a real shift in paradigm.
