If you needed any more reason to go to a concert, read on!

A recent study conducted by behavioural science expert Patrick Fagan, commissioned by O2, has revealed that going to concerts every 15 days could increase your life expectancy by 9 years. According to the study, just 20 minutes spent at a concert is enough to increase a person’s sense of wellbeing by 21%, and boost their self-confidence and interaction with others by 25%.

The authors report that people who regularly go to concerts are more likely to score their happiness and productivity at the highest level (10/10), suggesting that concerts have a considerable impact on wellbeing.

Nor is it the first study to analyse the relationship between music and happiness – other scientists have already come to the same conclusion, most notably neuropsychiatrist Erik Scherder in his famous study revealing the link between music and empathy.
