Cystitis: a bothersome illness

While very frequent but often taboo, cystitis — or inflammation of the bladder — can be quite unpleasant, even if cystitis in itself is generally nothing serious.

Cystitis is an extremely common condition. Although men are not spared from it, it affects women considerably more often. The underlying reason is anatomical in nature and quite clear: The bacteria generally come from the bottom of the digestive tract and in the woman, the distance to be traveled, from the anus to urinary meatus, is much shorter.
