Food against the sun’s harmful effects

29/08/2022

Moderation is the key to safe sun exposure. The right amount at the right time is very beneficial to our health, while too much can cause skin damage

When our skin is exposed to ultraviolet radiation, free radicals are generated. These unstable particles can degrade our cells and cause oxidative stress to the skin, leading to premature aging of the skin.
There are simple but effective ways to neutralize some of these free radicals: antioxidants. These are certain minerals, vitamins and trace elements naturally present in our food. Tomatoes, watermelon, red fruits, green leafy vegetables, carrots, and green tea are particularly rich in antioxidants.
Of course, these foods do not replace sunscreen, but by incorporating them into your summer menu, you give your skin an extra "layer" of protection.
