Pesticides

18/01/2018

Pesticides are chemical substances destined to destroy micro-organisms, such as bacteria, insects, or plants that are harmful to cultivations.

Since the early 1900s, pesticides have enabled us to increase agricultural productivity, yet some have been revealed to be toxic, banned by public authorities, notably the European Union. For other pesticides, authorities have fixed limits to their use in food.
So if you’ve been out picking strawberries, wild berries, mushrooms or daffodils, remember to carefully wash them, that way you’ll avoid ingesting pesticide residues.
