World translation day

30/09/2018

Today, on September 30, we celebrate the International Translation Day, on the feast of St Jerome, the patron saint of translators.

The celebrations have been promoted by the International Federation of Translators (IFT), ever since the celebration day was set up in 1953.

The celebration day is meant to show solidarity with the worldwide translation community and recognize their essential role in the era of progressing globalization.

Languages are vital for the health and wellbeing of education and research, in addition to business competitiveness and political standing, without forgetting both individuals and societies. Let’s all celebrate this wonderful day!
