Curcumin: ultimate cancer fighter

Curcumin, the principal component of turmeric, could be responsible for the significantly lower rate of certain cancers in India compared to western countries like the United States.

Curcumin’s anticancer properties have been well established in animal models as reported in several scientific publications, administering curcumin to mice has been shown to prevent the development of cancers induced by various carcinogenic substances.
The beneficial effects of curcumin could be limited, however, by its low bioavailability. It’s worth noting that piperine, the key component of pepper, improves the absorption of curcumin. Pepper and turmeric are both essential ingredients in a curry… Could this explain the low rates of cancer in India?
