A consecutive series of papers accepted for publication
For many years now, we have been editing the research papers written by Prof. Ermanno Candolfi from Strasbourg University, an internationally-recognized authority in the field of medical parasitology and mycology. All the papers edited so far have been accepted by major journals.
Prof. Ermanno Candolfi’s main research interests have largely been focused on toxoplasmosis, its epidemiology, diagnostic strategies, risks, and preventive measures. Our editorial team has edited, among others, the following publications:
- “Help in the choice of automated or semi-automated immunoassays for the serological diagnosis of toxoplasmosis: Evaluation of nine immunoassays by the French National reference center for toxoplasmosis.”
The publication was recently accepted by the Journal of Clinical Microbiology (J Clin Microbiol), and its abstract is accessible to all readers on PubMed. - “Ruling out nosocomial transmission of Cryptosporidium in a renal transplantation unit: case report”
This manuscript was accepted by BioMed Central (BMC) Infectious Disease, and can be freely accessed on the Internet.
Five tips for preparing your paper's figures and illustrations
While the precise presentation of your data will highly depend on the journal you have selected, parts of the data will likely be provided as figures or illustrations. Here are a few tips for creating superior figures and illustrations.
1) The fundamental question to ask: Is this figure really necessary? Or, in other words, does this figure provide add-value or can we just prepare a table instead?
2) Put emphasis on clarity and simplicity! Every word should be clearly recognizable. To this end, print the figure on paper so as to make sure that everything is readable.
3) Is this figure efficient? Or, in other words, is this figure the best way to convey the information. How long will it take the reader to grasp the information?
4) Use professional drawing software: with quality high-resolution graphics! We recommend employing at least 400 pixels per inch. Avoid Word and PowerPoint software.
5) How to learn to prepare optimal figures: By doing… And it is not a one-time deal. For each illustration you prepare, think it over carefully, check its efficiency, and try to improve it.
